North Shore For Palestine condemns in the strongest possible terms the joint US-Israeli bombing of Iran, which has now killed over 550 people, including over 150 children at an elementary school and targeted a sovereign nation while it was engaged in diplomatic negotiations. This attack is not an isolated incident, it is a deliberate act of escalation designed to destabilize the region and crush any force that resists Western and Israeli domination.
Let us be clear: bombing a country during negotiations is not diplomacy. It is state terrorism. Killing children in their school is not a “miscalculation.” It is a war crime. And framing this as “self-defence” is a lie repeated only by those who profit from empire.
As an anti-colonial organization, we understand that the struggle in Palestine is inseparable from the broader fight against imperialism across West Asia. The same US-Israeli axis that is carrying out genocide in Gaza is now widening its war. Their goal is not peace. It is regional submission.

We also hold the Canadian government accountable.
The Carney government has made its position unmistakably clear: it explicitly supports the US-Israeli bombing of Iran. When over 150 school girls were killed, Carney was in Mumbai offering not condemnation, but endorsement, declaring that Canada supports “the United States acting to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.” This is not neutrality. This is active complicity dressed in diplomatic language.
When Ottawa calls for “de-escalation” while arming Israel and backing NATO expansion, it is not acting in good faith. It is managing empire’s image while the bombs fall. It is signalling compliance, to appease a rogue bully.
This attack has already escalated conflict across the entire region. The people, whether in Gaza, Tehran, or Beirut, will pay the price with their lives, their homes, and their futures. We refuse to let that pass in silence.
We fully support the Iranian people in building their country and creating a better future for themselves free of intervention and suppression. We stand in solidarity with all peoples resisting imperialism!
